Little Trooper is the new project by David Hanke, better known as the musical mastermind behind Renegades Of Jazz and resident DJ at Hamburg’s legendary Mojo Club. When he was travelling around Europe in the last twelve months, he was mesmerized. „It is pure joy meeting new people, visiting places you always wanted to go and playing out your own music to a different crowd every night.“

Hanke was hooked, high on a heavy schedule of bookings, remixes and production work, long journeys on planes, sleeping in trains, waiting in stations and on airports also proved to be an ordeal at some stage. „Little Trooper’s music in my head all the time, and it was not exactly what you might expect from Renegades Of Jazz. I actually ended up with having Little Trooper, a little panda bear on my side. Which is really smart.“

Little Trooper is a complete home recording affair. „To be travelling with Little Trooper has changed my way of working completely,“ David Hanke tells with a happy smile. „It’s all about going your own way, not being too hip about what is the order of the day and looking further than just the next day.”
